VALLEY TO UPGRADE
AND REPLACE PRESS

Valley Newspapers, the printing division of Independent Newspapers, Inc., will be upgrading its north Phoenix printing operation in 2008 by installing a new state-of-the-art
press.

Valley Newspapers chose Goss International Corporation, Inc, of Dover, New Hampshire, to install a new 20-unit, 4 color-tower, Magnum press at the Deer Valley printing facility on 16th Lane in Phoenix. The new press will add additional color printing capacity and take printing quality to an even higher level.

“Our business plan and this marketplace calls for continued growth in the type of commercial printing services we provide,” said General Manager Steve Steinke. “Our current customers and others who have been inquiring about our capabilities want to know that we will be able to provide more and efficient color and sustain the level and quality of service they have come to expect from us. This next step will underscore that commitment.”

A successful Phoenix business since the early 1970’s, Valley Newspapers moved to a new facility near Deer Valley Airport in 2001. At that time they also expanded their existing press line.

“Since making those improvements, we have grown our commercial printing business by double digits each year. It is now time for us to add to our capacity once again. This is just the next step in a series of marketplace improvements that we envision continuing well into the future,” Steinke said.

Valley Newspapers is home to the Arizona division of Independent Newspapers and serves dozens of small and medium-sized commercial publications throughout Arizona.

“I’m proud and excited not only for those who work here and are committed to continuous improvement, but also for our Independent Newspaper counterparts and the commercial clients who have come to expect improvements and expansion of their publications as well,” Steinke said. “We look forward to adding many new clients as we expand our business, too.”
